Rockbitch played the Plymouth Barbican towards the end of 2000. True to their name and reputation, they walked on naked (seven women members), and proceeded to play an array of awful songs in a style somewhere between insipid goth and bland rock. This was immaterial, however, as the majority of the audience were more preoccupied with their obscene sexual stage performances, cumulating with an invitation to a female audience member to walk on stage and have sex with them. Their encore involved a golden condom being tossed into the crowd with which the lucky recipient “winning” the chance to use it on them backstage.
